A new solution designed to address skeletal expansion in growing patients. Offering a removable, safe and clinically effective alternative to traditional metal palatal expanders, it meets the needs of young patients, including adolescents, who make up the majority of orthodontic cases initiated worldwide.
Each device within the Invisalign Palatal Expanding System is personalised according to the unique anatomy of the patient on the basis of a 3D digital scanning iTero™ from Align. A treatment plan and appliance design is then created using Align's patented artificial intelligence-driven orthodontic software.
Dr Sandra Tai, an orthodontist from Vancouver, Canada, who participated in the limited launch programme of Align's Invisalign Palatal Expander System, praised the system, saying, "The Invisalign Palatal Expander System is a game-changer, alleviating the most common challenges with palatal expansion, including maintaining proper hygiene, emergency appointments, tightening the nut and parents' fear of causing pain to the child in treatment. He further emphasised that this system is removable and promotes oral hygiene while providing an effective and comfortable treatment experience, which generates high rates of parental satisfaction.
The Invisalign Palatal Expander system is currently in use. available on a limited basis in Canada (except Quebec) and is expected to be available in other markets after receiving regulatory approvals, from 2024.
We can't wait to try it out!
