This relationship occurs primarily through the <strong>temporomandibular joint (TMJ)<\/strong>, which connects the jaw to the skull and houses key postural receptors that influence how we position ourselves and move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  How are bite and posture related?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The jaw, skull, cervical spine, and feet are all interconnected. Therefore, any imbalance in the bite\u2014such as malocclusion, missing teeth, poorly adjusted orthodontics, or ill-fitting dentures\u2014can lead to postural compensations that affect the entire body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These tensions can cause symptoms such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Headaches or migraines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disorders in phonation and swallowing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digestive problems (bloating, constipation, diarrhea)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neck pain and torticollis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Muscle fatigue and imbalances while walking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  The relationship is bidirectional<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as a <strong>unbalanced bite<\/strong> can alter posture, <strong>injuries or blockages in the locomotor system<\/strong> They can also cause malocclusion. This demonstrates the importance of addressing these cases from a holistic perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">  A multidisciplinary approach to effective treatment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Midsa Odontologia we firmly believe in collaboration between professionals.
