{"id":237,"date":"2021-10-04T10:10:41","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T08:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/midsa.es\/nueva\/index.php\/2021\/10\/04\/desgaste-del-esmalte-dental\/"},"modified":"2021-10-04T10:10:41","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T08:10:41","slug":"wear-of-tooth-enamel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midsa.es\/en\/desgaste-del-esmalte-dental\/","title":{"rendered":"Wear and tear of tooth enamel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The wear or erosion of tooth enamel by acids or chemicals is an increasingly common disorder seen in the clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>erosion<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>enamel<\/strong>\u00a0It is one of the many causes of toothache.\u00a0<strong>dental erosion<\/strong>\u00a0It occurs when excessively acidic substances wear away the\u00a0<strong>tooth enamel<\/strong>, The hard outer layer that gives teeth their structure is exposed, leaving the dentin exposed, causing tooth sensitivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the symptoms of dental erosion are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Tooth discoloration:<\/strong>\u00a0If the enamel is damaged due to dental erosion, the natural whiteness of the teeth is lost, giving way to a more yellowish tone.<\/li><li><strong>Tooth sensitivity:<\/strong>\u00a0When the dentin is exposed due to dental erosion, the teeth become much more sensitive to external agents. For this reason, it is common to feel sharp pain after eating certain foods, sugary foods, or consuming drinks, especially hot or cold ones.<\/li><li><strong>Wear and tear of teeth<\/strong>The teeth may change shape, becoming more rounded or developing small cracks.
