EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ENDODONTICS

ENDODONTICS

WHAT IS IT FOR?

Endodontics is a conservative procedure that treats the inside of the tooth and allows you to maintain your natural tooth, the surrounding bone and gum, as well as its functionality.

WHEN IS IT NEEDED?

When the pulp is irreversibly affected by deep caries, trauma or endoperiodontal lesions.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL BE NECESSARY?

In most cases they are performed in a single session, but on other occasions two or more sessions may be necessary due to the technical difficulty of the case.

DOES IT SMELL?

Endodontic treatment is usually practically painless, as nowadays very effective and long-lasting local anaesthetics are used. Once the treatment has been completed and the anaesthetic has worn off, some discomfort may appear for a few days, which can be solved with a mild anti-inflammatory.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?

At MIDSA Dental Clinic the priority is to maintain the natural dentition. When this is not possible, the alternative is the extraction and replacement of the tooth; but it must be borne in mind that no form of replacement, including implants, can compete with a natural tooth.
